Today theoretical physics certainly facing dead end as we have exquisite mathematics but limited physical breakthroughs as Quantum gravity remains elusive despite decades of effort. Further physics categorised into more sub branch like Cosmology is filled with parameters but don’t fully explain anything. Particle physics has become dependent on large funding which can drive its costly machine, thus failure in experiment is unaffordable. This is happening because of One central reason is the increasing separation between physics and society. physics is no longer emerges from collective curiosity but from funding of large MNCs.
